One of Panera Bread’s values is to give back to the community in which we do business; therefore our team spends a good amount of time supporting local charities through events, fundraising and donations.
Over the past 14 years, we have given over $7,000,000 in funds and food to the community from non-profits to food pantries. We raise funds and donation in multitude of ways:
Panera Bread (Howley Bread Group) donates food and certificates to many organizations throughout the year. These organizations must be tax-exempt, non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations. To submit your donation request, click here
Due to the large frequency of requests, please note that requests do take 6 - 8 weeks to process and not all requests can be accommodated. If your event is this weekend or next week, it is highly suggested that you do not submit a request now, but rather submit a request for another event you have coming up in a few months. *Before you submit your donation request please understand that we can only accommodate donation requests for Howley Bread Group cafes in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.
For fundraising information, please call Great Lakes Scrip at 1-800-727-4715, or find them at www.glscrip.com.
Children’s Friend (cfsri.org) in Providence where funds raised support programs to assist vulnerable families throughout RI, such as Head Start and Dads Make a Difference.
Ryan’s Hope Foundation – (hopeforryan.com)founded by a Plainville, MA family whose now thirteen-year-old son, Ryan, was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) at age two. The Foundation was formed specifically to speed the rate of scientific research that will lead to a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
CT Sports Foundation Against Cancer (sportsfoundation.org) where funds raised go directly to Connecticut cancer patients and their families to help pay other bills such as mortgages, car payments and electric bills.
Community Bread Box:
Across our 28 cafes, our Community Bread Box canisters collect Funds for Feeding America. These dollars go to our local Feeding America pantries to help fight food insecurity including the CT Foodbank, Foodshare, RI Community Food Pantry, and the Greater Boston Food Bank.
Day End Partners:
We also have relationships with organizations, such as churches & shelters, who serve the impoverished through our DAY END program. At the End of the Day, these groups pick up our leftover breads and pastries to nourish those individuals who really need help. If you are interested in registering your non-profit group, please submit your request via "Contact us". See list of HBG cafes on Hours of Operations page).
